Making music is one of the most thrilling and potentially fulfilling aspects of our lives, and there’s no greater pleasure than helping a student find their musical voice. Voices are magical, but singing isn't magic. With the right guidance and consistent practice, anyone can learn to sing...and not just sing, but sing well.
As an established voice professional who has been teaching for thirteen years, I am committed to the development of my clients. My teaching philosophy revolves around the needs of each individual singer: my goal in each session to find the successful, individualized approach needed to help the your voice develop to its full potential. Regardless of whether you enjoy pop, gospel, musical theater, R&B, or classical, you can gain both a healthy technique and the confidence to finally enjoy your voice and sing without fear.
I work with singers at all levels of experience from beginners to established professionals. I also prepare young singers for their high school / performing arts schools auditions and my students have been accepted at schools such as LaGuardia, Talent Unlimited and Frank Sinatra School of the Arts.
In addition to standard coaching and instruction, I specialize in working with performers, teachers and actors who have experienced vocal issues such as injuries, frequent vocal fatigue, a loss of range or vocal clarity.
I work with transitioning, non-transitioning and gender non-conforming vocalists - addressing both physiological voice changes, as well as finding a healthy vocal sound that confirms and supports your gender identity.
After a long hiatus from singing, I came to Felicity feeling excited, afraid and apprehensive. Felicity immediately made me feel at ease through their extensive knowledge of the voice, and their individualized approach for the singer. We moved at a pace that made sense for me. Felix has a strong ability in demystifying the complexities of the voice by approaching it in a way that is accessible and allows for the singer's greatest success. In a nutshell, he loves what he does and it shows!
I've been taking lessons with Felix for only 3 months with no prior experience, training or anything. I can't believe the progress I've had in such a short amount of time. Felix is a fantastic teacher and just the nicest person to be around.
Felix not only hears your voice, he understands it. He fights for the voice you dream of: because of him I booked my first Equity contract. Felix's techniques of finding tension and helping you connect to support have been so useful
Felix Graham is more than just a voice teacher, he is a mentor. I've been "studying" voice for 10+ years and I was having a lot of difficulty because of tension issues and habits, many of which I didn't even know I had. When I started studying with Felix, my voice finally started to see major changes. He does not sugar coat, but his honesty is always delivered in a warm and smiling fashion. You can tell he genuinely cares about his students doing well and understands the process on a deep level. I still have a ways to go in undoing some habits, but I feel like I have a great professional with me who's on my team 100%.
I have been going to this singing teacher in New York for a couple of years now and they have been tremendous in helping me refine my technique. I am an actor and singer who struggled with a voice disorder in my late teens. We have been able to work on all kinds of material (pop, legit, musical theater, etc.) and strengthen my voice in a healthy way without losing what makes my voice unique.
Felix is incredible! I was brand new to singing when I started going to him for voice lessons and he helped me gain confidence and range and resonance. His Manhattan studio is gorgeous and easy to access. Lessons are always fun and engaging and I looked forward to them every wee
